Jochen Ditterich, UC Davis

Jochen Ditterich is an associate professor of neurobiology, physiology and behavior (NPB) at UC Davis. He is also a core faculty member at the Center for Neuroscience. His research focuses on neural mechanisms underlying higher-order brain functions linking perception and action, especially decision-making.

Ditterich's lab is currently working on learning how the brain processes sensory information and combines it with other information in order to select what action to take next and when to take that action. The goal of their research is to provide a solid foundation for understanding human choice behavior, the neural implementation of decision mechanisms, as well as problems with decision-making in psychiatric disorders.

Ditterich received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Munich.
