Cecilia Tsu, UC Davis

Celia Tsu, an associate professor of history at the University of California, Davis, studies Asian American history, race and ethnicity, immigration, California and the American West, gender, and agricultural and rural history.

Tsu’s main study of interest emphasizes 19th Century American history, and immigration.  Her studies and research explores the history of American orientalism, Asian American lives, and immigration and American Culture. She is the author of Garden of the World: Asian Immigrants and the Making of Agriculture in California's Santa Clara Valley (2013, Oxford).
