Grant Writing Support

There are many sources of support on the UC Davis campus for faculty seeking grants to fund their research.

Yoke Dellenback, Contracts & Grants Manager at the DSS Research Service Center, is available to help DSS faculty find funding opportunities appropriate for their research projects. (UC-specific and Extramural Funding Opportunities, as well as a Grants Calendar, can also be found via the pull-down menu under "Resources" on this Institute for Social Sciences website.)

Once the decision has been made to pursue a funding opportunity, Yoke is available to help most DSS faculty with the budget, equipment, personnel, etc. requirements of your application package, as well as the submission process itself. Administrative Services staff in the UC Davis Psychology Department provide grant and budget assistance to UC Davis faculty members affiliated with the Center for Mind and Brain (CMB) and the Department of Psychology.

All proposals for extramural funding prepared by UC Davis researchers must be submitted through the Sponsored Programs unit of the campus Office of Research. (Limited submission pre-proposals and pre-proposals that do not require an institutional signature are exceptions to this rule.)

Grant proposals for very large (multi-million dollar) interdisciplinary research programs are coordinated through the Interdisciplinary Research Support unit of the UC Davis Office of Research which provides faculty investigators with various proposal development and preparation services.

Links to additional general resources helpful to researchers preparing grant proposals are available on the Office of Research website.
