Extramural Funding Opportunities

This page contains information on how to find funding opportunities beyond University of California sources.

The UC Davis Office of Research (OR)  OR is a great source of information on funding opportunities of all kinds for UC Davis faculty, including extramural funding.

OR's Research Funding System is an especially useful resource for identifying Funding Opportunities of Special Interest to UC Davis researchers and for submitting pre-proposal applications to the Limited and Coordinated Submission programs managed by the OR staff.

To receive weekly updates of relevant funding opportunities, subscribe to OR Listservs.

Other sources of information on funding sources from outside the UC system include:

The Humanities and Social Sciences ONLINE (H-Net)  A listing of current funding opportunities in the Social Sciences and Humanities

National Science Foundation (NSF) Directorate for Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences (SBE)  Through its Division of Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences (BCS), Division of Social and Economic Sciences (SES), and the SBE Office of Multidisciplinary Activities (SMA), NSF SBE supports research that builds fundamental knowledge of human behavior, interaction, and social and economic systems, organizations and institutions

National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Basic Behavioral Social Sciences Research (OBSSR)  The OBSSR mission is to stimulate behavioral and social sciences research throughout NIH and to integrate these areas of research more fully into others of the NIH health research enterprise, thereby improving our understanding, treatment, and prevention of disease
