Chris Smith (2016-17)

Chris Smith is an assistant professor of sociology. Her research interests include crime and inequality, feminist criminology, historical research methods, organized crime, social network analysis, sociology of gender and urban sociology.

Chris is currently working on studying the multiplexity in organized crime networks using bivariate exponential random graph models in her forthcoming publication, Trust Thy Crooked Neighbor: Multiplexity in Chicago Organized Crime Networks. She earned her Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2015.

Her Spring 2017 Proseminar, led in collaboration with Bob Faris, is entitled Social Network Analysis for Social Scientists.
